Planning Committee

All planning applications that affect residents in Llantwit Major are submitted to the Vale of Glamorgan County Council. These are then forwarded to Llantwit Major Town Council Planning Committee who meet as required to discuss, and comment on, any recent planning applications

Terms of Reference for Planning Committee

Residents are welcome to attend the meeting but there is no public participation. The notice of meetings are displayed on the Town Hall notice board. Any objections to any planning application should
be sent in writing to the Town Hall, Llantwit Major, CF61 1SD by Wednesday noon prior to the meeting, a copy of which should also be sent to Vale of Glamorgan County Council, Planning Department, Civic Offices, Holton Road, Barry, CF63 4RU.

Following the meeting the decisions of the planning committee are sent to Vale of Glamorgan County Council as the Principal Authority. Planning covers a range of services including Forward Planning, Planning and Development Control, Building Control Services, Structure Plans, Local Plans, Transport, Minerals and Waste, Conservation, Trees and Landscape, Highways and Building Regulations.

By using the Vale of Glamorgan County Council website all applications, comments, and decisions can be viewed along with
all Planning and Building Control services, information, contacts, documents and links.
